Pirate has had a few problems lately with high potassium in the blood. Today his HF Nurse phoned to tell him to stay off the tablets he was taking that might be causing the problem. Well that's the hospital visits over for another month :D  Pirate managed to get the blood test and the visit done at least an hour earlier than he should have, so we ended up in and out in no time at all.  He has the all clear for now with no increase of dosages or new tablets which is good.  I've been thinking these last few weeks that Pirate must be a leper because no one wanted to deal with him and a new power chair :S  Today however he finally got a positive response from some guy in Surrey (I think that's where he is). He is coming tomorrow to sort Pirate's prescription (measuring him and finding out what he needs in a chair).   ( Read more... )

Elflady is not doing too well - her legs are swollen and weeping again :(  The district nurses are talking about coming more oftenm than once a week for dressing changes.

Not really! Elflady has only one love-bird now as last Sunday the remaining one 'murdered' the other. We aren't sure if it just died of too much fighting or if the other bird physically killed it as we didn't see the dead one (her eldest son having disposed of the body).
